Eyeonplace Press was established in late 2011
– to increase discussion about the importance of place
– to raise awareness about the architectural profession and what architects do
– to inspire more women to speak and write more of their concerns
The press also distributes a retrospectives of rugs woven by Wendy Bertrand.

About Wendy

Wendy Bertrand has been a mother since 1966 and a registered California architect since 1978. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor of architecture (1971), and with a master of architecture (1972) after study in France at the École des Beaux Arts (1964–65). She moved her weaving studio to San Francisco from Del Norte County, where she spins yarn and weaves colorful carpets. Her daughter, Chanette Manso, is one of the top internationally recognized light artists, she currently lives in New York City after years of work in France.

Wendy Bertrand, a long time knitter, became a carpet weaver after several years of hand spinning in the early 1990s. She has published several of carpets listed under books.
